Harvard University Description Short Abstract: This article examines intellectual property in China as a broad legal subject and a practical question of market entry, value protection and creation, and strategic positioning for foreign firms, especially those exposed to copying risk in software and other digitally reproducible assets. It argues that China’s intellectual property environment should be assessed not only through formal legal standards, but through implementation, infrastructure, firm size, distribution realities, and commercial timing.
