philosophy
This article examines the value orientation of modern social and humanitarian education in Russia through the prism of the “educational models” proposed by the modern American philosopher Martha Nussbaum. The crisis state of teaching this field of science in both foreign and Russian higher education is noted. The authors pay special attention to the direct correlation between the level of social and humanitarian education and the socio-political well-being in the state. The relevance of monitoring the state of humanitarian higher education is also determined by the specifics of Russian socio-historical conditions. Thus, the authors come to the conclusion about the need for a value reorientation of Russian humanitarian education in the direction of human potential development, which can have a positive impact on the general well-being of Russian society.
