The Ring Field Motif

philosophy
This paper develops the ring‑field motif: a structural account of how a ring of gravitating bodies generates confinement zones, saddle surfaces, and circulation channels through geometry alone. Rather than treating the system as a sum of pairwise interactions, the analysis focuses on the collective potential produced by the ring configuration. The resulting field exhibits stable radial wells, vertical saddle layers, and closed orbital contours as mathematical consequences of the geometry, independent of composition or scale. Asymmetries in the configuration naturally induce torque and rotation, linking the motif to familiar behaviors in disks, rings, and toroidal mass distributions. The framework shows how arrangement and symmetry organize motion across systems governed by different forces, revealing a recurring structural grammar underlying gravitational organization.
