AugRetPro - Augmentative Retrospective-Prospective Enriched Dynamic Probability Theory
Scope Current scientific accounts explain many mechanisms of adaptation, selection, and retention well. What they do not yet provide is a unified informational account of why prior actuation becomes progressively richer generative ground — why what almost occurred remains operative rather than simply absent, and why successive crossings become structurally richer than prior ones. AugRetPro proposes such a mechanism. This work proposes that the past does not merely constrain the future; it can enrich the future by retaining not only what actualized as trace, but also the non- actualized probability-depth that remains indexed to each actuation. AugRetPro names the mechanism by which retained trace and retained potential-depth accumulate into enriched probability streams, allowing a richer past to become the structural condition of a richer future. Abstract Actualization is commonly understood as a narrowing process in which one possibility becomes real while alternatives close. This paper argues that the inclusion of informational dynamic factors renders this account incomplete. What actualizes enters the Field as trace — the “is” that is becoming. What does not actualize does not vanish. It remains real in the retrospective — not as archive but as operative presence — pressing forward as probability depth. AugRetPro names the mechanism by which retained trace and retained potential- depth accumulate into enriched probability streams across successive “Now” crossings — each carrying both its Generational Now and its Relational Now. What almost occurred remains operative, shaping what can next become actual. The past is not merely a larger record. It is generative ground. This framework explains why simple beginnings produce increasing sophistication without teleology, and why the same mechanism appears wherever information and time operate together through a shared Field. Standard evolutionary accounts explain adaptive retention through variation and selection. AugRetPro adds a complementary informational mechanism: every crossing deposits not only retained trace but also potential-depth, allowing later crossings to proceed from a richer generative field than earlier ones.
