This paper argues that dreams should not be treated as secret codes, prophecies, fixed symbolic dictionaries, or private messages that can be translated once and for all. A dream is better approached as a structural map: a temporary simulation of how the psyche is routing pressure, avoidance, desire, memory, threat, shame, relation, and possible repair. The paper places Structural Intelligence in conversation with Freud’s account of dream-work, Jung’s compensatory view of dreams, activation-synthesis theory, the continuity hypothesis, threat simulation theory, social simulation theory, content analysis, imagery rehearsal therapy, and lucid dreaming research. Its core methodological claim is that dream work should begin by asking what the dream shows before asking what it means. The paper introduces several SI dream concepts: dream-map, architecture of avoidance, load-bearing figure, symbolic pressure, blocked repair route, dream leakage, interpretive seduction, and the lucid trap. It also warns that AI dream interpretation can create coherence too quickly, producing beautiful interpretations that make the dreamer feel profound while leaving the underlying contact untouched. The contribution is practical and philosophical: dreams become less useful when treated as riddles and more useful when approached as maps of relation, pressure, avoidance, and possible repair. A good interpretation should make the dreamer more answerable, not merely more impressed.
