The Domain Principle - How Structural Necessity Instantiates Empirically Across Domains

The Foundation Series (Papers 000–005) derived the structural conditions of persistence. The Derived Structural Series (Papers D001–D011) derived the necessary consequences of those conditions and closed the consequence structure. The Domain Series applies this architecture to specific empirical domains: physical persistence architectures, biological persistence architectures, organizational persistence architectures, personal persistence architectures, and cosmological persistence architectures. The transition from Derived to Domain requires a principle that does not appear in either series. The Foundation and Derived Series establish what is structurally necessary from LP admissibility alone. Domain papers establish how this structural necessity instantiates in specific empirical domains — and that transition requires domain-specific bridge assumptions that go beyond LP admissibility. This paper establishes The Domain Principle: the formal specification of what bridge assumptions are, why they are required, what they may and may not claim, and what the relationship between structural necessity and domain-specific realization is. Three theorems are proven. Theorem D12.1 — Bridge Necessity: no domain paper can follow from LP admissibility alone. Every domain instantiation requires at least one bridge assumption connecting LP structural variables to domain-specific observables. Theorem D12.2 — Bridge Constraints: bridge assumptions are constrained — they must be consistent with LP admissibility, domain-specific, and falsifiable independently of LP. Theorem D12.3 — Domain Independence: LP structural results remain valid independently of whether any specific bridge assumption holds. The failure of a bridge assumption falsifies the domain instantiation, not the structural law. LP does not explain the empirical content of any domain. LP specifies the structural architecture that any persistent domain must instantiate. The mechanism of instantiation is domain science. The structural condition of instantiation is LP.
