Why Agápē Is the Only Possible Ground: A Transcendental Elimination of All Competing Relational Modes

This paper completes the foundational proof that the first paper in this series — Reality Is Triune: A Metaphysical Argument for Agápē as First Principle — assumed but did not fully establish. That paper demonstrated that agápē is the only relational mode capable of grounding being, but it did so without first proving that its elimination criteria were themselves necessary rather than chosen. A critic could therefore charge that the criteria were selected to predetermine the conclusion. This paper closes that vulnerability. The argument proceeds in two stages. The first derives, by transcendental argument, three conditions that any sufficient ground of being must satisfy: generativity — the capacity to give rise to actuality rather than merely describe it; non-coercion — the preservation of real distinction without domination or absorption; and coherence — the maintenance of stable, intelligible relational order. These are not evaluative preferences. They are the irreducible structural requirements for any world in which beings exist, differ, and can be understood. To deny any one of them is to deny the possibility of determinate being. The second stage performs an exhaustive elimination across the complete logical space of possible relational modes, organized by a principled binary taxonomy. Every alternative — coercive, competitive, indifferent, emanative, neutral-structural, dyadic — fails at least one necessary condition. Agápē alone satisfies all three simultaneously. It is not selected. It is what remains. The result is a categorical upgrade to the entire series: if anything exists and is intelligible, the ground of being must be agápēic, and triune structure follows as the minimal architecture capable of eternally actualizing it. Nothing simpler can sustain relation. Nothing more complex is required.
