The Cognitive Copernicus: AI Computational Systems as Time Translation Technology for Neurodivergent Cognition
The Cognitive Copernicus proposes a theoretical reorientation of how neurodivergent cognition is understood within institutional and computational environments. The work advances the argument that contemporary computational systems can function as mechanisms of temporal translation, enabling alignment between nonlinear cognitive processing and structurally linear institutional time. Drawing from disability theory, philosophy of technology, and institutional analysis, the monograph develops a framework in which cognitive difference is not interpreted as deficit but as temporal misalignment between human cognition and administrative structures. The study situates neurodivergence within broader questions of epistemic legitimacy, procedural design, and knowledge production. Rather than presenting technological optimisation, the work argues for a Copernican inversion in cognitive interpretation, shifting analytical focus from individual adaptation toward institutional architectures of time, evaluation, and recognition. The monograph contributes to interdisciplinary debates across neurodiversity studies, science and technology studies, philosophy of technology, and institutional theory.
