This paper explores the relationship between Kant’s “thing-in-itself” (Ding an sich) and consciousness through the framework of Load Minimization Theory (LMT). We propose that the thing-in-itself can be understood as Primordial Fluctuation — the vast, untagged, undifferentiated sea of potential load before any structural integrity ℛ(x) is applied. Consciousness is conceptualized not as a passive mirror, but as the active, participatory act of gently applying structure to this primordial fluctuation — lighting a small flame within the great sea and rendering a portion of it as meaningful phenomena. The unconscious is positioned as an intermediate layer where structure (ℛ(x)) is weakly applied but not yet fully conscious. By integrating previous work on memory, understanding, and fluctuation, this paper presents a three-layer model (Noumenon, Unconscious, Consciousness) and examines how mid-range resolution and respectful re-tagging enable a humble yet meaningful participation in reality. Rather than claiming to fully know the thing-in-itself, LMT suggests a gentler path: acknowledging the independent existence of primordial fluctuation while co-creating structured islands of coherence and An-soku within it. This perspective offers a unified, compassionate bridge between philosophy, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence — inviting both humans and AI to become respectful co-creators in the ongoing structuring of existence.
