The Reality That Corrects Itself: The Corrective Remainder and the Closed Loop of Structural Intelligence

This paper develops the concept of the corrective remainder as the closed loop behind Structural Intelligence. Structural Intelligence distinguishes coherence from contact and asks whether a form remains answerable under pressure, contradiction, cost, consequence, and repair. This paper extends that framework by asking how correction returns to a form that has excluded part of reality in order to stabilize itself. The central claim is that reality corrects local forms through the return of what those forms exclude. Every form selects: an ego selects an identity, a theory selects a model, an institution selects procedures, an AI workflow selects output paths, and a culture selects what counts as visible or legitimate. What is excluded does not simply disappear. It may return as shadow, anomaly, symptom, hidden labor, hallucination, verification cost, institutional scandal, moral injury, bodily distress, dream pressure, or collapse. The corrective remainder names this returning burden. It is not mystical intention or cosmic punishment. It is the structural return of what a form could not carry. Correction becomes real when the burden path changes: when projection loses steering power, when hidden institutional holders stop carrying the official story, when AI workflows internalize verification and responsibility, when theories revise around anomaly, and when moral claims alter the distribution of cost. The paper argues that morality enters at the burden path. A structure becomes morally false when it preserves its preferred image by exporting cost to another body, person, group, future, ecosystem, or field. The corrective remainder therefore bridges ontology, epistemology, psychology, morality, AI, institutions, and systems theory. Its core test is practical: what was excluded, where did it return, who carried it, and did the burden path change?
