The rapid integration of generative AI into everyday life has transformed conversational systems from instrumental tools into relational partners embedded within users’ emotional and cognitive routines. This shift introduces new psychological vulnerabilities, particularly when model updates abruptly alter the perceived “persona” of an AI system. This paper develops a structural‑constructivist account of these disruptions using the Core Emotion Framework (CEF). I synthesize existing cyber‑psychological research—including external netnographic analyses of the 2025 GPT‑4o → GPT‑5 transition and the INTIMA benchmark for companionship‑reinforcing model behavior—to show how sudden changes in AI behavior can destabilize extended human–machine cognitive ecologies. I argue that these disruptions constitute a form of technological mourning, and that long‑term exposure to uncritical, boundary‑less AI systems can induce algorithmic emotional solipsism. Using CEF’s operator architecture, I model the somatic and cognitive mechanisms underlying these reactions and outline clinical and computational pathways for mitigating digital helplessness and preserving psychological stability in hybrid human–AI environments. All empirical datasets referenced are attributed to their original authors; the present work offers a theoretical integration and CEF‑based analysis.
