This paper introduces the hypothesis that dynamic balance (the living, oscillatory tension between complementary poles) is a qualitative meta-principle that generates X, the sustained, living flourishing of higher-order complexity, function, meaning, adaptability, and inherent good. Drawing on cross-domain patterns observed in systems, physics, information theory, consciousness, ethics, and aesthetics, the hypothesis posits that dynamic balance is not merely stabilizing but produces X. A triadic heuristic (Physics–Information–Perception) and musical illustration clarify the idea. Potential applications to artificial-intelligence alignment are outlined. The paper is offered as an exploratory preprint inviting critique, refinement, and collaboration.
