Description Abstract In a diversified society, the Indian judiciary is essential to the interpretation and protection of personal laws. This essay explores how the Indian judiciary upholds Muslim personal law, looking at significant court rulings and how they affect the social and cultural dynamics of Muslim communities in India. The study examines the conflicts between religious customs and the equality and justice guaranteed by the constitution by following judicial reactions to matters including marriage, divorce, inheritance, and maintenance within the context of Muslim personal law (MPL). This study examines the changing role of the court in striking a balance between religious rights and the socio-legal standards of a secular state through the analysis of significant rulings.
