<b>Echolocation Pulses of </b><b><i>Lonchorhina aurita</i></b><b> (Chiroptera: Phyllostomidae) in Antioquia, Colombia</b>

other biological sciences not elsewhere classified, reference call libraries are essential for identifying bats through passive acoustic monitoring, yet insectivorous phyllostomid bats remain poorly represented in colombia. we describe the echolocation pulses of lonchorhina aurita based on four recordings from captured individuals in antioquia, colombia. we analyzed 255 search-phase pulses. the pulses showed multiple harmonics, with a predominant constant-frequency (cf) component followed by a short terminal frequency-modulated (fm) component. the frequency of maximum energy was 43,9 ± 2,1 khz, mean pulse duration was 7,91 ± 2,58 ms, and mean pulse interval was 104,91 ± 9,4 ms. acoustic parameters agreed with previous reports from mexico, costa rica, panama, and brazil. this study provides the first acoustic description of lonchorhina aurita from colombia and expands the reference library for passive acoustic monitoring. key words: echolocation, phyllostomidae, ultrasounds, bats
