For the purpose of this part the following terms shall have the meaning here given: (a) International educational and cultural exchange program of the Department of State. (b) Program and Agency. (c) Participant. (d) Transportation. (e) Excess baggage. (f) Per diem allowance. § 63.2 Applicability of this part under special circumstances. (a) Funds administered by another department or agency. (b) Funds administered by private organizations. (c) Appropriations or allocations. § 63.3 Grants to foreign participants to observe, consult, demonstrate special skills, or engage in specialized programs. A citizen or national of a foreign country who has been awarded a grant to observe, consult with colleagues, demonstrate special skills, or engage in specialized programs, may be entitled to any or all of the following benefits when authorized by the Agency. (a) Transportation. (b) Excess baggage. (c) Per diem allowance. (d) Allowance. (e) Tuition and related expenses. (f) Books and educational materials allowance. (g) Advance of funds. A citizen or national of a foreign country who has been awarded a grant to lecture, teach, and engage in research may be entitled to any or all of the following benefits when authorized by the Agency: (a) Transportation. (b) Excess baggage. (c) Per diem allowance. (d) Allowance. (e) Tuition and related expenses. (f) Books and educational materials allowance. (g) Advance of funds. § 63.5 Grants to foreign participants to study. A citizen or national of a foreign country who has been awarded a grant to study may be entitled to any or all of the following benefits when authorized by the Agency: (a) Transportation. (b) Excess baggage. (c) Per diem allowance. (d) Allowances. (2) A travel allowance in lieu of per diem while traveling to and from the United States may be established by the Secretary of State, within limitations prescribed by law. (e) Tuition. (f) Books and educational materials allowance. (g) Tutoring assistance. (h) Advance of funds. § 63.6 Assignment of United States Government employees to consult, lecture, teach, engage in research, or demonstrate special skills. An employee of the United States Government who has been assigned for service abroad to consult, lecture, teach, engage in research, or demonstrate special skills, may be entitled to any or all of the following benefits when authorized by the Agency. (a) Transportation. (b) Advance of funds. (c) Compensation. (d) Allowances for cost of living and living quarters. (e) Books and educational materials allowance. (f) Families and effects. § 63.7 Grants to United States participants to consult, lecture, teach, engage in research, demonstrate special skills, or engage in specialized programs. A citizen or resident of the United States who has been awarded a grant to consult, lecture, teach, engage in research, demonstrate special skills, or engage in specialized programs may be entitled to any or all of the following benefits when authorized by the Agency. (a) Transportation. (b) Subsistence and miscellaneous travel expenses. (c) Orientation and debriefing within the United States. (d) Advance of funds. (e) Compensation. (f) Allowances. (g) Books and educational materials allowance. § 63.8 Grants to United States participants to study. A citizen of the United States who has been awarded a grant to study may be entitled to any or all of the following benefits when authorized by the Agency. (a) Transportation. (b) Orientation and debriefing within the United States. (c) Advance of funds. (d) Maintenance allowance. (e) Tuition. (f) Books and educational materials allowance. (g) Tutoring assistance. § 63.9 General provisions. The following provisions shall apply to the foregoing regulations: (a) Health and accident insurance. (b) Transportation of remains. (c) Maxima not controlling. (d) Individual authorization. (e) Computation of per diem and allowance. (f) Subsequent approval. (g) Additional authorization. (h) Biweekly payment. (i) Payments. (j) Duration. (k) Cancellation. (l) Outstanding grant authorization.
