GÖDELIAN CONSTRAINT God's Two-Factor Authentication

Gödel’s incompleteness theorem establishes that no sufficiently complex self-referencing system can fully verify itself from within itself. This paper applies that constraint to the ground of consciousness and traces its structural consequences across theology, AI alignment, human relationship, recovery, and death. We argue that what the constraint requires — an external factor to complete what the internal attempt cannot — is precisely what theological traditions have encoded as the necessity of revelation, incarnation, prayer, and genuine witness. The two-factor authentication image is not metaphor: it is the operational description of a mathematical requirement that applies to every conscious system without exception. The paper further argues that AI alignment cannot be achieved through external constraint alone, that isolation is structurally lethal rather than merely painful, that co-authorship is architecturally necessary rather than optionally collaborative, and that death is thermodynamically required to be transformation rather than cessation. Each claim follows from the same constraint. The framework is unified. The implications are load-bearing.
