This addendum clarifies the structural limits of Open Ontology by identifying its dual boundary conditions: closure and collapse. While the original articulation rejects closure as the demand for final grounding or termination, it risks misinterpretation if openness is taken to imply the absence of constraint. In response, this essay argues that Open Ontology must equally reject collapse—the loss of coherence under relational dispersion. Openness is thus neither indeterminacy nor completion, but structured persistence within tension. To formalize this condition, the essay introduces coherence as a continuously negotiated threshold rather than a fixed state. This threshold—named the Crucial Equilibrium—designates the dynamic balance through which intelligibility is sustained without resolving into final form or dissolving into incoherence. As relational accumulation (ontological load) intensifies across manifestation, coherence becomes increasingly demanding, requiring ongoing recalibration rather than stabilization. The addendum further situates human understanding within this framework, arguing that philosophical fragmentation reflects not failure but the pressure of relational saturation exceeding inherited conceptual structures. Perpetualism is thus reframed not merely as an ontological description, but as a navigational response to this condition: a grammar for maintaining coherence under increasing tension without recourse to closure or collapse. By articulating these constraints explicitly, the addendum seals Open Ontology against both foundationalism and relativism, establishing it as a system of structured openness in which intelligibility persists through continuous renegotiation rather than final resolution.
