A short essay on the emergence of a new type of intentionality
This short essay presents the author's questions, thoughts, and hypotheses on the emergence of new types of intentionality as technology and society evolve. Using the pictorial act, which is an intentional act made possible only by the development of painting and photography, the essay explores what constitutes a new type of intentionality and how our minds react when we encounter unfamiliar novelty, similar to a prehistoric person seeing a picture of themselves.
