To Physics I Did Nothing. Maybe I Freed the Observer. He Can Retire Now and Tend My Three Cats.

philosophy
This reflective essay examines the conceptual burden placed on the observer in interpretations of quantum mechanics, particularly in relation to the double slit experiment. While physics itself remains untouched, the metaphysical weight assigned to the observer—collapse, measurement, and the transition from possibility to actuality—can be reconsidered. Through the development of a modal–actuality framework, culminating in the emergence of the “White Cat” as a stabilising operator, I found a way to understand the double slit experiment without granting the observer a privileged metaphysical role. This essay marks the end of a personal intellectual journey: not a contribution to physics, but a reframing of the observer problem that allows the observer, metaphorically, to retire and tend to the three cats that symbolise the modal, the actual, and the emergent.
