Dissolving the Riemann Hypothesis: A Philosophical Resolution by Refusal of Meaning

The Riemann Hypothesis is celebrated as one of the most impor- tant unsolved problems in mathematics. It asserts that the nontrivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function lie on the critical line. Yet, from a philosophical standpoint, the search for hidden order in the distri- bution of primes is a human projection. In this paper, we argue that the problem is not to be solved, but to be dissolved. The demand to extract a precise rule from prime numbers resembles Zeno’s para- dox: a meaningless infinite regress created by our insistence on order. Thus, the “solution” is a rejection: primes do not need meaning, and the Riemann Hypothesis evaporates as a pseudo-problem.
