The Choric Underground
Inspired by his experience at an underground nightclub, in this short essay, Latković explores the aesthetic effects of music on a subject’s ontology, primarily within the relations of existence and non-existence. Drawing on Kristeva’s conception of the “chora” and the “abject” to support his given ideas, as well as Debord’s theory of the “spectacle”, the essay builds upon Latković’s previous work titled, “I Abject!”, and provides an insight into the implications his theoretical development has on sociocultural relations in our present, metamodern world.
