Ontology of Meaning in the Age of Continuous Erosion
This book presents a comprehensive philosophical framework for understanding meaning, cognition, and human existence in an age of continuous transformation. It argues that cognitive science has reached a theoretical dead end in its attempt to explain meaning because it has overlooked a fundamental condition: entanglement. Entanglement—the inescapable presence of history, language, body, and culture in every act of understanding—is not a defect to be overcome but the very condition of meaning. Building on this insight, the book develops an ontology of erosion, showing that meaning emerges not despite the wearing away of structures but through it. The erosive subject is one that maintains finite stability through the ongoing practice of calibration, undergoes continuous transformation, and generates new meaning from the erosion of old forms. The framework addresses the challenges of the technological age, develops an ethics without firm ground, and offers an art of living in the erosive horizon—the art of being unstable, yet standing.
