Philosophy is what?
Abstract Modern metaphilosophy defines philosophy as "non-definability," a stance that essentially leads to linguistic confusion. By revisiting the Ancient Greek term Philosophia (the love of wisdom), this paper delineates "philosophy" as a purely normative act—"reflection" (second-order thinking), thereby proving that it is not philosophy and science that correspond, but metaphysics and science that correspond. At the same time, through Hume's Guillotine (the Is-Ought Problem), this paper demarcates the domain of axiological philosophy. Based on this, this paper introduces Nominal Philosopher and Philosophizer as conceptual tools for metaphilosophical discernment, thereby separating the metaphysician from the philosopher defined in this paper.
