BOOK XV of XLII — IDENTITY (The Unified Cosmology, Second Edition)
Book XV — Identity develops an axiomatic account of Identity as the persistent self‑sameness of a living Form across Time, Variation, and internal Change. Building on the biological temporality established in Book XIV — Life, this volume shows that Identity is not a substance but a dynamic achievement grounded in the preservation of a Core Pattern. The work formalizes the Boundary of Identity as a self‑generated distinction between system and environment, and introduces the Identity Gradient as the internal asymmetry that organizes persistence across Biological Time. Through definitions, axioms, and demonstrations, the book establishes that Identity arises only in living systems, depends on Continuity, and is maintained through active Self‑Maintenance. Identity emerges as the temporal unity of a living being—an ongoing process that bridges Life and Selfhood, autonomy and interiority, persistence and consciousness.
