The hard problem of consciousness is usually framed as the question of how physical processes give rise to subjective experience. This essay argues that the question is mislocated. It begins after appearing has already been divided into “matter” and “experience,” then asks how one side of the split produces the other. Perpetualism approaches the problem from an earlier register. It begins not with matter, mind, subjectivity, or information, but with Phainesis: appearing without external ground. From this starting point, consciousness is not treated as a primitive, substance, emergent property, illusion, or biological accident. It is derived as Bearing. By Bearing, this essay means the non-external load-bearing of focalized appearing: the threshold at which phainetic appearing, relationally articulated through Triune Recursion, coherence-registered under Coheris, and irreversibly ordered through Temporis, is held through the Crucial Equilibrium without collapsing into saturation or closing into projection. The formal title-term Sympheresis names this Bearing-with: the relational carrying of appearing within the configuration that sustains it. Consciousness, on this account, is not produced by matter as an effect from an ontologically complete physical base. Nor is it presupposed as mind, spirit, selfhood, or world-generating subjectivity. It arises where appearing becomes borne from within the relation that carries it. The essay therefore does not solve the hard problem on its inherited terms. It dissolves those terms by exposing the prior division that made the problem appear insoluble. The question is no longer how matter produces experience, but how appearing becomes borne. Consciousness is Bearing: focalized Phainesis held non-externally through the Crucial Equilibrium. Governing Methodology: No assertion without derivation. No new term without necessity. No consciousness smuggled into appearing, Observer, registration, experience, or selfhood.
