The Crisis of Humanity is an interdisciplinary monograph that uses the Lao-Yang Genesis Cosmology as its coordinate system, Natural Cybernetics as its analytical framework, and the irreversibility of thermodynamics as its ultimate verdict. The book systematically diagnoses the triple crisis confronting human civilization: the cognitive crisis (the Three Great Illusions — the theological illusion, the political-military illusion, and the economic-ecological illusion — have obscured humanity's perception of its true position in the cosmos); the systemic crisis (the Three-Level Greedy Positive-Feedback Model is simultaneously losing control at the neural, social, and thermodynamic levels, with three tipping points converging); and the thermodynamic crisis (the entropy increase of civilization as a dissipative structure is approaching the irreversible planetary critical threshold). The book argues that anthropocentrism is the shared cognitive root of all three crises, with the global dominance of instrumental rationality as its institutional vehicle. The way out lies in the Fourth Awakening: completing the civilizational paradigm leap from anthropocentrism to Natural Civilization through the cosmic-coordinate reconstruction of the Lao-Yang cosmological view, the systemic governance framework of Natural Cybernetics' five principles, and the institutional practice of Natural Civilization's four pillars. The book integrates the author's series of papers published on PhilArchive, together with forty years of practical wisdom spanning nuclear safety probabilistic risk assessment, smartphone operating systems, and corporate governance, to provide human civilization — facing the threat of thermodynamic collapse — with a scientifically and philosophically grounded diagnostic report with a clear prescription.
