Subject Fluxism is an original philosophical system constructed from the primordial intuition of “I am watching,” developed through phenomenological description and transcendental argumentation. Taking the distinction between the “functional I” and the “vehicular I” as its conceptual cornerstone, and “the other as the potential I” as its core proposition, it proposes a third ontological path distinct from both substantialism and contingentism: the subject is neither a fixed entity nor a random event, but the observing function that perpetually circulates within the field of cosmic subjectivity. This essay serves as an overview of the theory, tracing the origin of its problematic—the philosophical questioning that germinated from the intuitive conflict between the fear of death and the “contingency of life” thesis; expounding its core insights—transforming the “problem of other minds” from an epistemological predicament into an ontological guarantee, and shifting the answer to “Who am I” from the interior of the subject to the relation between the I and the other; mapping its dialogue with the history of philosophy—its deep resonance and paradigmatic divergence from Kant's transcendental philosophy, phenomenology, existentialism, Buddhist theory of rebirth, and Vedantic philosophy; and offering a meta-theoretical reflection on the legitimacy and criteria of evaluation for a philosophical creation by a “philosophical gleaner.” Subject Fluxism does not intend to be a final answer, but to provide a new direction of thought for those minds suspended between nihilism and dogmatis.
