The Principle of Multidimensional Observation: A Philosophical and Computational Framework
This paper develops a philosophical framework for multidimensional observation, arguing that objects and events cannot be fully characterized within the traditional four-dimensional space-time model. While spatio-temporal coordinates specify where an entity is, they fail to capture what it is, how it is experienced, and what it means. Drawing on philosophy of science, phenomenology, and systems theory, I propose that reality is accessed through multiple observational layers—physical, energetic, perceptual, and semantic. These layers are irreducible yet complementary. Using the example of an apple's taste-pleasure and the collective flowering behavior of walnut trees, I argue that certain experiential properties are object-grounded: they belong to the object as real, albeit relational, features. A thought experiment with echolocating bats further shows that different sensory modalities reveal different real dimensions of the same object. The paper concludes that knowledge is inseparable from the dimensional structure of observation, and that a complete understanding of any object or event requires integrating multiple observational dimensions rather than reducing them to a single framework.
