Reception and Formation: An Information-First Geometry of Mind

Sudden, non-constructive arrival of complete content — whole, pre-linguistic, without felt assembly — and the ontogenetic formation of self-referential ownership are treated here as two directions of a single geometric process. Using two tensor network models developed independently in theoretical physics — the Multi-scale Entanglement Renormalization Ansatz and the HaPPY holographic error-correcting code — this paper proposes that both phenomena reflect the same renormalization architecture governing the AdS/CFT bulk-boundary correspondence, run in opposite directions: reception recovers a non-local boundary structure as the observer's ordinary cognitive machinery quiets; formation builds that machinery up in the first place. Three falsifiable predictions follow. The first is a temporal signature in reception: holon content should arrive in the right anterior superior temporal gyrus measurably before self-attribution registers in the medial prefrontal cortex, rather than the two arising together as in ordinary gestalt insight. The second is a threshold rather than gradual signature in development: self-referential ownership should emerge as a discrete transition once maturing medial-prefrontal–posterior-cingulate coupling crosses a critical threshold, not as a smooth developmental ramp. The third is a specificity bound, following from the same completeness constraint: a given observer should be able to receive only content within the domain configured by their own sustained engagement, testable by fixing that domain in advance and checking whether the resulting content falls within it. The tensor network models are toy constructions in Anti-de Sitter space, employed as an architectural isomorphism rather than a claim about literal quantum processes in biological tissue.
