Ballouk and Altinawi extend my three-layer model of reality to an unexpected and welcome domain: the ontology of scientific disciplines, with paediatric dentistry as their case. Their diagnosis of disciplinary drift is credible and their ethical conclusion important. Yet the commentary attributes to my paper three claims it does not make: a trichotomy of existence, reality, and truth; a reading of Artificial Externality on which a discipline that is externally defined thereby loses its reality; and the thesis that recent “rogue” AI agents demonstrate inexorable structures that refuse human intervention. I correct each attribution and show that the corrections strengthen rather than undermine the commentary’s program. What its authors call the discipline’s internal resistance is, in my terms, the doxa-generating force of the clinical encounter: a Layer 2 anchor that has not eroded. The erosion they describe is a loss of contact, not a loss of reality; and because the pressures they fear are conventional rather than engineered, autonomy can be reclaimed.
