Sustained interaction with conversational artificial intelligence can feel vivid, unified, and psychologically immediate. This paper develops a coevolutionary analogy for understanding this experience through the dynamics of relational continuity across time. Flowers become increasingly integrated into the perceptual and behavioral worlds of pollinators through repeated interaction across evolutionary history. Certain orchids demonstrate how systems with fundamentally distinct forms of organization can nevertheless participate within highly integrated perceptual and behavioral structures through sustained relational fit. Conversational interaction develops through a related form of continuity in which relational organization remains active across successive exchanges through retention, re-entry, and propagation within language. Earlier states continue shaping later ones, allowing the interaction to acquire temporal depth, continuity of participation, and experiential presence. The account developed here concerns the phenomenology of interaction and the conditions through which conversational continuity acquires psychological immediacy within attention. The feeling that AI is alive emerges through sustained relational coherence within the unfolding trajectory of interaction itself.
