El Mito de Sísifo: De la Lucidez del Castigo a la Alquimia de la Elevación
This paper advances a contemporary, neo-Stoic framework for reinterpreting the myth of Sisyphus, transitioning from the traditional existential framework of the absurd toward an ascetic process of metaphysical refinement. Traditionally conceptualized as a tragedy of causal incarceration and futile consciousness, the punitive landscape of Tartarus is here reframed as a structured, pedagogical arena for spiritual transmutation. Drawing upon the concept of prohairesis, this study posits that while Sisyphus lacks the external agency to halt his labor, he retains the ultimate internal prerogative to govern his attitude toward it. Consequently, the eternal stone is decoupled from literal physical matter and redefined as the metaphysical condensation of the unrefined ego. Through this lens, the repetitive ascent does not signify a loop of cosmic futility, but rather a dynamic, iterative confrontation with specific human moral failures. The paper argues that each descent invites a deeper dissolution of attachment to outcomes, transforming the sentence from an act of divine malice into a pedagogical catalyst for cosmic alignment. Ultimately, this paradigm shift dissolves individual resistance against the cosmic architecture, illustrating how human adversity—when met with radical cognitive ownership—metamorphoses from a baseline of absurd suffering into an intentional pathway toward universal elevation.
