The Quiet Body Gap™
The Quiet Body Gap™ designates the micro-interval in which bodily appearance precedes interpretation. Within Somatic & Physical Literacy™ (SPL), this interval constitutes the primary domain of study: the moment in which sensation presents itself without narrative, emotional framing, or cognitive assignment. Few concepts across somatic, therapeutic, and cognitive disciplines name the appearance of sensation before its conversion into meaning. This paper establishes the ontological structure of the Quiet Body Gap, its methodological implications for descriptive attention, its role within SPL, and its consequences for phenomenology, ethics, pedagogy, and institutional application. It positions the gap as the smallest unit of somatic appearance—a unit perceptible only through disciplined attention, ethical quiet, and the withdrawal of interpretive pressure.
