Language as Coherence Geometry

Language is typically treated as a symbolic code or cultural artifact. This paper offers a structural account in which linguistic systems are downstream expressions of coherence dynamics within a cognitive system. Language is modeled as a geometry that organizes gradients, thresholds, and stabilizations into communicable form. Across phonology, syntax, semantics, and discourse, linguistic structures reflect the same formation dynamics that govern pattern emergence in physical and biological systems: a rising signal, a threshold or transition, and a stabilized configuration. The paper shows how linguistic forms compress and transmit coherence, how symbolic density reflects underlying pattern strength, and how linguistic meaning arises from structural fit rather than semantic content. This downstream model treats language as a cross‑domain instantiation of Objects 1–3 and does not invoke relational or multi‑system dynamics. It provides a unified framework for understanding linguistic structure as an expression of coherence geometry rather than as an arbitrary symbolic code.
