*The Secret Codes of the Mind: Ancient Greek Philosophy*, Volume II, presents a systematic study of ancient Greek philosophy from the Presocratics to the major schools of the Hellenistic period. The volume traces the emergence of philosophical inquiry in early Greece and the attempts of the Presocratic thinkers to explain nature, being, change, permanence, causality, and the underlying principles of reality. It then turns to Socrates and the transformation of philosophy into a sustained inquiry into knowledge, virtue, human conduct, and the conditions of the examined life. The subsequent discussions focus on Plato and Aristotle as two decisive architects of classical Greek philosophy. Plato’s treatment of knowledge, reality, the soul, ethics, and political order is considered alongside Aristotle’s investigations of logic, metaphysics, causality, nature, ethics, and political life. The concluding part follows Greek philosophy into the Hellenistic age, exploring the Cynic, Epicurean, Stoic, and skeptical traditions and their competing accounts of happiness, virtue, freedom, knowledge, nature, and philosophy as a way of life. Each lecture includes questions and assignments designed to support active philosophical analysis, together with recommended literature for further study.
