Lost Polity, Decoding, and Awakening: Historical Narratives, Identity Politics, and Contested Legitimacy in Huanghan(皇漢) Nationalism
Recent Huanghan discourse organized around the “1644 view of history,” historical “decoding,” and “bloodline awakening” is analysed as a platformized vernacular theory. The analysis centres on eight publicly accessible platform items, while public controversy texts and existing scholarship provide contextual material. The selected items retrospectively organize the Ming–Qing transition as a traumatic node of civilizational rupture; construct a vernacular epistemology through anomalous details, hidden connections, and the absorption of counter-evidence; and fix political boundaries through interpellation, dis-identification, and exclusionary re-identification. At the level of legitimacy, the proposition that “the Han nation is suppressed” temporarily fixes the meaning of heterogeneous problems, while “national rejuvenation” assumes a common representative function. Platforms are not treated as the single cause that generates Huanghan discourse. Rather, configurations of visibility, modular content forms, connectivity, and low-cost participation reduce the cost of copying, recombining, and using historical fragments for identity performance. The resulting model distinguishes material observation, theoretical interpretation, and hypotheses requiring further verification: historical fantasy, a decoding epistemology, identity refixation, and struggles over representation are mutually constitutive, whereas any additional algorithmic amplification must be tested with diffusion data or recommendation experiments.
