philosophy
We propose a falsifiable experimental test of the hypothesis of objective non-unitarity of quantum events. Unlike standard quantum mechanics—where measurement irreversibility is attributed to effective decoherence or insufficient control—the hypothesis posits that a real event, defined as a thermodynamically irreversible and multiply readable fixation of information, imposes a fundamental limit on reversibility that cannot be eliminated even in principle under perfect control over the system.
