This paper argues that reflection is not an optional add on to learning but a structurally essential phase within Reflective Field Pedagogy. Reflection functions as a self rewarding process in which learners consolidate their intellectual journey, recognise their perseverance, and derive intrinsic motivation to revisit challenges. Whether the outcome of the learning episode is success, struggle, or partial understanding, the reflective phase transforms effort into meaning. This transformation enriches the learning experience, strengthens learner identity, and creates a positive feedback loop that sustains long term engagement with complex or demanding subjects. The paper outlines the pedagogical significance of this phase and proposes its formal integration into the Reflective Field Pedagogy framework.
