An Operator Algebra Over Recursion, Scale, Flow, and Entropy

This paper takes a set of twelve operators, each originally introduced as a narrative diagnostic label for a way recursive systems fail or persist, and gives them a common mathematical home. It does not claim the operators are empirically measured quantities. It claims something narrower and more defensible: that the qualitative judgments behind each operator's name can be transcribed, consistently and without loss, into an explicit function on a bounded four-dimensional state space, and that the resulting structure is a genuine algebraic object — closed, associative, possessed of an identity — capable of proving things that a purely verbal taxonomy could only assert. The four dimensions are Recursion, Scale, Flow, and Entropy. They are chosen as primitives rather than as another layer of named operators, on the grounds that they are orthogonal to one another, operationally distinguishable in any system a reader might apply them to, and present — in some degree — in every recursive system, whereas the twelve operators are not primitives at all but specific, compound patterns of movement across those four axes. Onion, Apple, Gate, Stack, Mirror, Funnel, Hydra, Echo, Ratchet, Spiral, Lens, and Compass become, under this treatment, named transformations A: R → R on a state vector R = (r, s, f, e), rather than free-standing concepts each carrying its own private vocabulary. Nothing about this formalization upgrades the twelve operators into measured constructs. Which coordinates each operator moves, and in which direction, remains a modeling decision — a considered transcription of a qualitative pattern, made explicit instead of left as an unexamined intuition. What changes is that, once that transcription is fixed, the consequences are no longer a matter of further interpretation. They are computable.
