This essay introduces confluence as a correction to a linear account of condensation. While earlier work described becoming as the constitution of one state by its predecessor through inheritance and reception, the present study argues that no created being is constituted by a single lineage. A tree, a person, and every historical actuality arise through the inseparable convergence of multiple trajectories that cannot be ordered into a privileged genealogy. The resulting regress does not terminate in a first ancestor or primary member but in the uncreated ground that makes every convergence possible. The essay concludes by applying this ontology to the widespread intuition that the past was better than the present, arguing that nostalgia reflects the completed structure of confluence rather than a comparative judgment about historical conditions.
