This paper proposes a concept of consciousness grounded in the notion of the reflection of an event in experience. The subject is understood not as a pre-given entity but as an iteratively constituted process: the "I" of each moment is the "I" of the preceding moment plus the result of a new reflection. Intelligence is defined as an infinite process of establishing associations, directed toward unification, generalization, and universalization. Free will is reconceived not as a break in the causal chain, but as a quality of reflection: the degree of freedom of choice is determined by the breadth of context available to the subject at the moment of decision. It is argued that the vector of unification of the similar is one of the fundamental laws of reality, discernible at all levels of organization — from the physical to the psychological. The alignment of the subject with this vector through the expansion of experience and reflection is proposed as a descriptive foundation for the phenomena of health and happiness.
