The Group Form of Law: The General Form of Law
What makes a regularity a law? A single matching relation, a present response, a retained trace, or even a structure that temporarily affects subsequent behavior is not by itself sufficient for lawhood. This paper approaches the question generatively and asks what must minimally be present once a law has come to stand in a sedimentation-based system. Under the conditions explicitly stated in the paper, lawhood requires at least one and the same bearing organization that is already formed in the present structure, genuinely participates in generating what follows, and is supported for stable recurrence. The result reframes law not merely as an external description of repeated events, but as a problem of formation, present bearing, and subsequent dynamical organization. “Law” is used here in its ordinary sense of a regularity, law of nature, or rule, rather than as a special object introduced by the theory.
