Return on equity of banks
Return on equity (ROE) is a MIP auxiliary indicator. It is a measure of financial performance calculated by dividing the profit or loss for the year by shareholders' equity. In the CBD2 dataset, aggregate ROE is considered a gauge of profitability and how efficient a banking system is in generating profits. Higher ROE indicates higher profitability.
