Afternoon Tea Philosophy — Building Continuous Self through Layers of Small Delights —
This paper proposes the Afternoon Tea Philosophy (also referred to as the Croquembouche Model) as a novel framework for theory construction. Rather than pursuing a single, monumental “grand theory” baked over decades, the author constructs numerous small, self-contained papers — likened to delicate petit gateaux and choux pastries — which are then carefully stacked and connected through recurring conceptual “caramel threads” such as Load Minimization Theory (LMT), Irreversible Flow, Inscription, and Continuous Self. This approach embraces a “there-so-far-and-next!” exploratory style while maintaining a coherent architectural vision. Each small paper is complete in itself, yet gains deeper meaning and structural integrity when integrated into the larger confection. The framework is applied to the author’s ongoing research program, which simultaneously develops (1) LMT as a foundational theoretical tower and (2) practical protocols for AI implementation and cognitive optimization. The Afternoon Tea Philosophy offers a sustainable, low-load, and aesthetically rich alternative to traditional theory building — one that prioritizes Continuous Self, An-soku (rest/peace), and gentle co-creation with AI. It suggests that profound philosophical systems can emerge not from exhaustive depth in a single direction, but from the patient stacking of many sweet, meaningful layers.
