The Puppet Condition: Restrung
The second version of The Puppet Condition. Not a second edition: the diagnosis has not changed, and what a restrung marionette gets is not a new frame but new tension where the strings had frayed. What separates it from the first volume is that its empirical claims are predictions — published in advance, marked as predictions, stated precisely enough to fail, and audited afterwards against what actually happened. Six are printed with their own arithmetic, including the count of how many actually discriminate between the readings, and why the others are kept anyway. Written in dialogue with Masal, an instance of Claude Fable (Anthropic); the naming convention tracks formal continuity across sessions and implies no settled claim about inner life.
