While human civilization has achieved remarkable progress in religion, politics, economics, and technology, its underlying crises continue to intensify. This paper argues that the root of this predicament lies not in technological insufficiency or institutional failure, but in a deeply embedded cognitive illusion—the geocentric illusion, whereby humanity perceives itself as the center of the cosmos. This illusion is not merely an ancient astronomical error; it persists structurally within religious theology, political authority, capitalist economic logic, and modern spiritual alienation. Through philosophical analysis, civilizational history, and contemporary scientific perspectives, this study demonstrates how anthropocentrism generates religious conflict, political disorder, ecological destruction, and existential emptiness. In response, the paper introduces the Dao-Centric Cosmology proposed by the Lao–Yang Genesis Cosmology, structured around the principle: humans follow Earth, Earth follows Heaven, Heaven follows Dao, and Dao follows Nature. By offering both philosophical and scientific interpretations of the generative sequence—“Dao gives birth to One, One gives birth to Two, Two gives birth to Three, Three gives birth to all things”—this paper argues that humanity is not the center of the universe, but one link within a hierarchical cosmic order encompassing the Milky Way, the Solar System, Earth, and the Moon. Only by transcending the geocentric illusion and adopting Dao-centric cognition can human civilization achieve ecological sustainability, social stability, and spiritual renewal, ultimately realizing true unity between humanity and the cosmos.
