Why Nihilism Fails

Nihilism claims nothing matters. Nihilists believe this. Believing it already contradicts it. A belief is a stance you hold as true rather than false — which means truth matters to you, which means something matters. The nihilist has not escaped the domain of mattering. They have staked out a position within it. But the failure goes deeper than logical incoherence. Every position that appears — including nihilism — has Isness. Having Isness means satisfying H > K: holding exceeds dissolution. That holding is the predomain structure of mattering. Nihilism, in existing as a position, already participates in the structure it denies. And in its operation, nihilism functions as K-pressure — a dissolution-claim that runs on the very substrate it is trying to dissolve. This is not just incoherent. It is structurally perverse.
