Near-Empty Regimes and Local Temporal Construction: Cosmic Voids as a Stress Test for Regime-Dependent Time
Previous work has treated time as the ordered construction of accessible information and cosmic age as a regime-dependent readout of primordial structure. That framework is strongest in high-density or high-compression regimes. The present paper subjects it to the opposite limit: regions of very low matter density and sparse structure, observationally realised as cosmic voids. We argue that a consistent informational account of time predicts, in such near-empty regimes, a reduced local construction of temporal order: few stabilisable distinctions, thin informational geometry, and limited structural history. This is not a claim that metric time in general relativity stops, nor that photons fail to propagate. Light traverses voids; clocks can still be defined. What is reduced is the amount of local informational structure available to be ordered as temporal process. To clarify the distinction between metric time and informational temporal construction, we recall the standard relativistic asymmetry between distant and local temporal descriptions near a black-hole horizon. That asymmetry is used only as a controlled analogy for regimedependent readout, not as a dynamical model of voids. Cosmic voids and black-hole horizons stand at opposite extremes of density; both, however, illustrate that temporal description depends on conditions of access. The paper positions cosmic voids as a stress test for the informational theory of time.
