Logic as a Narrative Maintenance Mechanism
Logic maintains consistency within symbolic structures, but it is not a generative foundation of cognition. It operates downstream of the coherence dynamics that form meaning, identity, and narrative. Tension functions as the upstream signal of structural misalignment; narrative provides the symbolic architecture that organizes experience; logic enforces the constraints that keep that architecture coherent. Because logic depends on pre‑existing symbols, boundaries, and narrative structures, it functions as a maintenance operator rather than a source of coherence. This paper situates logic within the Objects 1–3 framework and reframes it as a downstream mechanism for preserving coherence inside already‑formed symbolic systems.
