Monism of Limites Consciousness model (MLC): an ontology of stabilized apperance
MCL (Monism of Limited Consciousness) is a disciplined monist ontology designed to resolve two aporiae that typically motivate the transition from naive solipsism to robust realism: (i) the experienced resistance and law-likeness of the world, and (ii) the stable, correction-sensitive appearance of other minds. Rather than positing an ontologically independent res extensa, MCL posits a single fundamental reality C (ground) whose presentation admits a functional partition into a non-phenomenal generative stratum G and a finite phenomenal stratum F. A central commitment is an epistemic barrier B: F lacks global access to G, thereby preserving surprise, learning, and non-trivial agency. World-resistance follows because phenomenal will does not legislate global stabilization; law-likeness follows because G privileges diachronic continuity, counterfactual robustness, and compressibility. Within this architecture, facts are treated as stabilized facts-of-appearance: events integrated into public and diachronic coherence via validation rather than mere assent. The article develops the ontology, epistemology, hermeneutics, and pragmatic-ethical consequences of MCL, articulates its methodological status relative to falsifiability, and answers standard objections (unfalsifiability, arbitrariness, semantic externalism, and realist competition).
